Born in 1991 in Berkeley California, Emma Fineman completed her studies in multiple institutions around the world, first attending the Studio Art Centers International Honors Program in Florence, followed by her Bachelor’s Degree in Painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), and lastly receiving her Masters Degree in Painting at the Royal College of Art in London.
Fineman has been appointed multiple awards as well as being included in various international solo and group exhibitions. In her artistic practice, the artist explores methods to fracture and reconfigure pictorial space, while attempting to describe and digest the dense compression and specialization of time in contemporary culture. Fineman often states her focus to be in the tempo and speed of culture now, and the effects such elements enacts on memory and perspective. Fineman currently lives and works in Cornwall, United Kingdom.
